Reiki Tables
Massage tables can easily double as Reiki tables, but there are 2 important factors to consider before purchasing your Reiki table. The most important is the availability of what are known as Reiki end panels or Easy Access end panels. Massage tables traditionally have had a cross style brace between the legs at either end of the massage table. This design was considered to offer more stability and sideways support. However, recent engineering developments have allowed for the design of an arch style brace that can offer the same or better support as the traditional cross-brace end panel.
Many massage table manufacturers now offer Reiki end panels as options or even standard features. Oakworks offers Reiki end panels as standard equipment on most of their massage tables. However, this is usually just at one end of the table while the other end utilizes a cross-brace type support. If you are a Reiki practitioner and need access above and below both the head and feet of your client, you might find this design restrictive. The Reiki tables we recommend have Reiki panels at both ends of the table.
The other important factor is material. Many people prefer the look and feel of wood, however Reiki practitioners have told us it’s better to work with aluminum based Reiki tables. The reason is that negative energy can be absorbed into wood which can hold on to this energy. An aluminum frame will not absorb the energy and actually allows for better flow around the client.
